The flute is designed to reduce accidental spills but is not leakproof, so liquid may come out if it's turned upside down.

My wife and I live on the beach in south Florida. Once a week we do a champagne brunch on the beach. With heat indexes of 100+ champagne in a glass gets warm fast. ou have to drink fast which is okay, but I'd rather drink good french champagne at my own pace and it be as cold as it was when I first poured out of the bottle 10-15 minutes later.
